American Words Matter
Kanye’s Right to Free Speech
Bending words to your will and keeping them there is real power. And you have it if you choose.
That is just a reminder that your words mean everything. In the land where Freedom of Speech is the first right on the agenda, it’s the one American freedom that tops the others, though those are of immense importance to. When spoken they are an expression of your becoming, your journey you willfully shape of yourself. When written, they leave behind a trail that marks the paths others might follow, just to see where you went.
But they are also a projection of power, which can overrun minds, cause the powerful to tremble, bind others together toward a common cause like freedom from repression. Or bind together those to repress that freedom others like us seek.
That freedom brings differences to us. That belief in diversity acceptance is the respect for others difference that is the one commonality that lifts us up, even though it may also take us down different paths. The respectful separation of us shows we are not chained together, forced to follow some leader through the streets, like a wide avenue where a military parade might march, but let’s wander somewhere separately, perhaps in the woods, perhaps alone or with others crossing our own paths, towards some unknown destination.
