American is the Democracy It Says It Is!
And You World Leaders Better Keeping Saying It — or Else!
It’s very easy to call yourself a democracy, to repeat it a thousand times a week on the news, and to have everybody just simply believe you. It helps to go unchallenged if you happen to live in America, what to keep your broadcast license the federal government awarded you, to simply propagate this lie while you are occupying three quarters of the world with over 800 military bases in foreign countries.
Americans, and it turns three-quarters of the countries in the world, doesn’t mind not calling military occupiers not the biggest global empire like ever. So, everyone is used to calling American whatever it wants in those countries it occupies, like leaseholders, allies, tactical allies.
The fault for such myopic vision, or myopic blindness if you want to be technical, is because leaders of their own country always paint themselves in the shiniest light, thinking of the best of themselves and doing good for their country, even if some people need punishing in remaining out of line.
Take Saudi Arabia, where gays have lost their heads, literally, but the government chopping them off in public executions in a couple times I saw on smuggled video clips about ten years ago or so. Does the past or current King or King-to-be, MBS as he is known…
