DeSantis is Regrettably Correct
A lot of black Americans criticized DeSantis for trying to teach the benefits of slavery. Even white liberals joined in. But the federal government already brags about the benefits of American slavery, that is happening now, yet little criticism is aimed at them. The ignorance of the many is hurting the slavery of the few. How can you be released from this forced labor slavery if you refuse recognize it, research it, when the federal government posts it openly?
For a brief primer we need to clarify the history in America, falsely repeated so many times that the false narrative is not fact and the direct refusal to see the structure of currently slavery is from endlessly repeated white falsely constructed narratives over the past one hundred and fifty years. After British slavery ended in 1865, a type of slavery set up and maintained under British autocratic law, American Slavery started in the 13th Amendment. The 13th amendment nationalized slavery for the first time. See, that wasn’t hard.
The phrasing in the 13th amendment is crystal clear, and overtly says enslaving people is OK as long as certain conditions are met. It was inserted under protest from Missouri Senator John B. Henderson, a Harvard trained lawyer from a pro-slavery state or “border state” that sided with Union in the War. As a highly trained lawyer and pro-slaver, he knew exactly what he was doing. It basically says in this rephrasing, “Slavery and indentured servitude is allowed by the governments if a person is duly convicted of a crime, except for Americans not convicted of a crime, then slavery is over for them anywhere in the US.”
Sure, I reversed the phrasing, but that is exactly what is said. Southern states destroyed in the war then immediately made laws to convict freed negroes for standing around to rent out in convict leasing programs. President Johnson, a right wing MAGA conservative from a slave state where he was a military governor before 1964 when he ran with Lincoln for VP, repealed the intent of Lincoln to punish the rich southern pro-slavers of stripping them of their plantations and source of wealth and returned the plantations to the rich, effectively wiping out the war by reverting the structure of control back to those who always had it. But, go and read…
